The science program at Milton High School endorses the National Science Education Standards, contributing to our school's broader mission.
Our science course offerings equip students with a scientific understanding of the natural world by knowing the basic concepts of science, scientific modes of inquiry, the nature of scientific work, and the historical and social contexts of science. Students will understand the basic concepts of the particular discipline they study, will be able to apply them to aspects of their own lives, and will be able to utilize them in combination with skills and knowledge obtained from other fields. The scientific literacy they develop will enable them to make informed decisions in the home, community, and workplace. Additionally, our programs offer students the experiences to establish a solid foundation and the skills necessary for success in future careers in science.
